Meet Dana Gough. Dana is one of the sweetest, most amazing and caring women to have ever walked through the Cru doors . She has been a part of our journey as a client and friend for a few years and now we feel even more blessed to have her in this role to share her God gifts with all of you. My name is Dana Gough and I’m your New Cru “Chief Spiritual Officer” for 2021! My goal is to encourage, inspire, and uplift YOU!On the outside, I might look like I have it all together. But we’ve all got crazy stories on the inside and here is a little part of mine…
- I grew up in a really dysfunctional family in a small town about 20 minutes south of Cleveland, OH. My Mom was a “mean girl” towards me and crazy abusive towards my Dad.
- As soon as I finished high school, I moved out and married the wrong guy. I had 3 amazing children. My marriage became severely abusive, in every sense of the word. Remember the movie “Sleeping with the Enemy”? (Or “Safe Haven” for all you younger ladies out there.) Yeah, that was me. Seriously.
- I was angry. Angry at God, really. I was completely convinced God didn’t love me. God is why I had such an awful Mom, a hard life, a crummy relationship, anxiety, etc…
In 2011, I was broken in every sense of the word. Broken mind, broken body, broken spirit, broken bank account, broken family, and broken friendships. I finally cried out to God and EVERYTHING CHANGED. God heard me, saved me, forgave me, and completely changed it all. Things changed because I finally reached out to Him and invited Him in every part of my imperfect life.I still struggle with many things, but I’ve learned when I invite God into my heart, mind, body, and soul – that is when true healing begins and lasts!Now, I love to share my story with other women and encourage them to take good care of themselves by inviting God into the process. That is my goal with you this year! I want to encourage you to take better care of YOU! Together, let’s bring some healthy self-care and a little bit of God into our busy schedules.A few times a month I’ll be posting in this group some self-care encouragement just for you!
