The French Tuck

So often during a personal shopping session the client will come out of the dressing room and the top she’s wearing (although super cute) seems just “not right”… it’s just a little too baggy, a little too frumpy. Enter the “french tuck”.

What is it exactly? It’s the lazy sibling of the ‘full tuck’!

“Coined by Queer Eye’s Tan France, the ‘french tuck’ is a styling technique that involves tucking the front of an oversized, billowy, or looser top into the higher rise bottom and letting the back of the top be untucked.

When done properly, this provides an easy French style sensibility and casual air to your outfit. It also helps elongate your proportions and emphasize your waist.” (Source-Gabrielle Arruda)

Moral of the story… while pulling out your fall sweaters and oversized tees this season keep in mind that a top can quickly go from frumpy to fabulous with just a little tuck!

Have you tried the french tuck yet? Are you loving the look or hating it? Let us know in the comments!

Until next time,
